She Said

The following song/poem was inspired by the saying that says, "dance as if no one is watching, sing as if no one is listening," or something similar. I've seen it used as a motto, or inspirational quote, but I wondered to myself how it could be said to someone, if you were having a deep conversation with them...

What I like about the way I constructed this song/poem is that it gives a little room for your imagination to explore between verses. To think of why she says what she says, or what he's telling her between the verses. Overall, it's a piece about Faith and Love... And maybe you can also relate to this song.

She said, as they sat on her bed,
"There's some things that I regret.
I'm not a perfect person...
How can I be forgiven?"

She said, "If what you say is true,
Then help me be more like you.
There's so much I don't understand,
Just promise me you'll hold my hand..."

And she said, "You're so sweet,
You're so good to me."
She said, "You're something else,
I don't think there's anyone else like you."

She said, "You always know how
To make me smile, like now."
She said, "I'm so thankful
For you my friend, my angel..."

And he said:

"Love - as if there's no tomorrow!
Hug - as if you'll never let go!
Smile - because you never know how far
A little love can go!

Dance - as if no one is watching!
Sing - as if no one is listening!
Breathe - cherish the simple things in life,
My friend, and my love...

Oh...

Because, I'll always love you!
Whenever I hug you,
It's with all my love for you!
And I won't stop smiling for you!
